🗞️ Uncaged Issue #1– Cosmetology
Welcome to the Fight for Animal Freedom Welcome to the first issue of Uncaged — Today we will be delving into the depths of animal testing for cosmetics and other products we use in our daily lives.
Each issue will expose the truth behind industries that profit from cruelty, share updates from groups like PETA, and give you ways to take real action, including petitions, campaigns, and awareness tools.
🚨 Today’s Focus: Animal Testing in the Cosmetics Industry
Even in 2025, animals are still being tortured for makeup. In cosmetic testing labs worldwide, rabbits, guinea pigs, and mice are force-fed chemicals or have products dripped into their eyes and rubbed into their shaved, raw skin. These tests often cause blindness, burns, or death, and are done without pain relief.
Brands like L’Oréal, Estée Lauder, and MAC continue to sell in countries like China, where animal testing is legally required. That means they’re choosing profit over ethics. This happens even though over 50 cruelty-free testing methods are available that don’t use animals, and are often more accurate.
It doesn’t have to be this way. Many companies like e.l.f., Fenty Beauty, and The Body Shop prove you can be successful and ethical.

🔥 Victory Highlight: A Lab Shut Down
After 2.5 years of nonstop campaigning — and over 650,000 actions taken by supporters — PETA helped cut all funding to Margaret Livingstone’s monkey experiments at Harvard.
Her lab ripped infant monkeys away from their mothers, sewed their eyelids shut, then studied the brain damage caused by isolation and sensory deprivation. After years of trauma, many of these monkeys were killed and dissected. This cruelty is no longer funded, but seven National Primate Research Centers still are.

💬 Quote of the Day
“The question is not, Can they reason? Nor can they talk? But, can they suffer?”
